Oana David, Ph.D - Project Director

Oana David is currently Associate Professor within the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, Babeş-Bolyai University (BBU) Cluj-Napoca. She is the executive director of the European Coaching Center, one of the research units of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at BBU, since the very founding of the Center (2009). Major research interests of Dr. Oana David are devoted towards incorporating technology in evidence-based interventions for mental health promotion. Based on previous projects coordinated, Oana David developed various technology based products among which a mobile application for stress management:The PsyPills app./ mood change application, an the online Rational Positive Parenting Program and the roboRetman, a mecatronic device for emotional skills development of children.


Alin Cordoș, Ph.D - Team Leader from PixelData

Alin Cordoș is the general manager of the SC PixelData SRL. Dr. Alin Cordos has very good knowledge in DICOM and HL7 standards. He has more than 10 years of experience in software development using the following software development platforms and programming languages: C++, Visual studio (MFC, ATL, COM/DCOM), SQL, Java, C#, JavaScript, JSP(JavaServer Pages), Visual Basic, C/C++, HTML, XML, Pascal, CVI(C for Virtual Instrumentation), LabView, Smallworld;. He has experience in Database management using SQL Server, PostgreSQL servers.

Ann Vernon, Ph.D, - Clinical Consultant

Ann Vernon, Ph.D., NCC, LMHC, is professor emeritus at the University of Northern Iowa, where she served as coordinator of the School and Mental Health Counseling programs. She is also currently the President of the Albert Ellis Institute, New York. Dr. Vernon has published numerous books and has authored more than 30 book chapters dealing primarily with counseling children and adolescents, developmental counseling, and applications of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) with children and adolescents.

Bram Vanderborgh, Ph.D - Clinical Consultant

Bram Vanderborght received the degree in study of Mechanical Engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2003. In May 2007 he received his PhD in Applied Sciences. In May 2006 he performed research on the humanoids robot HRP-2 at the Joint Japanese/French Robotics Laboratory (JRL) in AIST, Tsukuba (Japan). From October 2007-April 2010 he worked as post-doc researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology in Genua (Italy) on the humanoid robot iCub and compliant actuation. Since October 2009 is appointed as professor at the VUB. His research includes cognitive and physical human robot interaction, robot assisted therapy, compliant actuation, humanoids and rehabilitation robotics. Since October 2011 he is part-time research director at the Babes-Bolyai University, Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy with a project on robot assisted therapy with ASD children.

Anca Dobrean, Ph.D - Senior Researcher

Anca Dobrean is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapies, Faculty of Psychology and Sciences of Education, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca. She is the director of the Infant, Child and Adolescent Research Program, involving the coordination of research activity of postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and several master degree students. Dr. Dobrean’s areas of expertise are: evidence based psychological assessment and evidence based intervention for child and adolescent disorders.


Viorel Lupu, Ph.D - Senior Researcher

Viorel Lupuis Associate Professor at “Iuliu Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Head of the Department 2008-2011). His major areas of expertise are evidence based psychiatric assessment and evidence based intervention for child and adolescent disorders.

Mădălina Sucală, Ph.D - Post-doctoral Researcher

Mădălina Sucală holds the position of Senior Assistant Professor, PhD, within the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, is a member of The International Institute for the Advanced Studies of Psychotherapies and Applied Mental Health at the “Babes;-Bolyai” University and executive director of The “Babes Bolyai – PsyTech” Psychological Clinic. Following the completion of her doctoral thesis, Mădălina Sucală underwent a post-doctoral research internship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, where she has pertained to research projects addressing (1) the impact of psychological factors and the efficacy of psychological intervention techniques in patients undergoing breast cancer treatment, and (2) the use of online psychological services and using online services and technology in psychological interventions.

Cristina Mogoașe, Ph.D - Post-doctoral researcher

Cristina Mogoașe is a Senior Assistant Professor, PhD, within the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. Her PhD thesis is focused on the role of cognitive biases in emotional and psychosomatic disorders. She serves also as a research assistant in several ongoing projects within Babeș-Bolyai University. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and psychotherapist trained in cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy. Cristina completed her undergraduate and Master studies in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Babeș-Bolyai University.


Cristina Pop, Ph.D - Post-doctoral researcher

Cristina Pop is a research assistant in several ongoing projects within Babeș-Bolyai University. Cristina Pop received her M.S. degrees from Babes-Bolyai University, in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and in Health Psychology at Babeș-Bolyai University. From 2008 to 2011 she worked at Autism Transylvania Association as a psychologist, and from 2010 she was the head of the Research Department of Autism Transylvania Association. Currently she is involved in several ongoing research projects, one of which “Exploring Robot Assisted Therapy for Children with ASD” in collaboration with Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and psychotherapist trained in cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy.

Cardoș Roxana, Ph.D Candidate - Doctoral Researcher

Roxana Cardoş is a psychologist specialized in clinical psychology and psychotherapy, accredited by the Romanian Board of Psychologists. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an M.A. in “Clinical psychology, counseling and psychotherapy” from Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. She is now continuing her studies at Babeş-Bolyai, following a Ph.D. program in the Doctoral School “Evidence-based assessment and psychological interventions”. Her professional expertise includes empirically validated web-based interventions for the treatment of fear of flying.

Horea Oltean, Ph.D Candidate - Doctoral Researcher

Horea Oltean is clinical psychologist and psychotherapist specialized in cognitive-behavior theories, accredited by Romanian Board of Psychologists. Also, he is a Ph.D. Student at the Doctoral School “Evidence-based assessment and psychological interventions”, Babeş-Bolyai University, from October 2014. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2012) and he holds a Master in “Clinical Psychology, Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy” (2014), both from Babeş-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca. His main research interests are focused on the effects of specific aspects of language on emotions, cognitions and behavior.

Alina Cimpean, Ph.D Candidate - Doctoral Researcher

Alina Cimpean is a psychologist specialized in clinical psychology and psychotherapy, trained in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, recognized by the Romanian Board of Psychologists. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an M.A. in ”Psychological Techniques for Controlling Behavior and Development of Human Potential”, from Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca. Currently, she is following a PhD program in the Doctoral School “Evidence-based assessment and psychological interventions”, investigating the role of cognitive evaluations on pain related emotions and pain intensity.

Silvia Măgureanu, Ph.D - Post-doctoral researcher

Silvia Magurean is Assist. Prof. within the Psychology Department of West University of Timisoara. Her PhD thesis (2014) focused on changing implicit/automatic cognitions in smoking. Since 2009 she participated in several research projects regarding the assessment and change of automatic reactions and cognitions. Her research interests concern the practical use of implicit social cognition methods and theories in health, personality and organizational psychology.

Răzvan Predatu, Ph.D Candidate - Doctoral Researcher

Predatu Razvan is a psychologist specialized in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, accredited by the Romanian Board of Psychologists. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an M.A. in “Clinical psychology, counseling and psychotherapy” from Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. He is now continuing his studies at Babeş-Bolyai, following a Ph.D. program in the Doctoral School “Evidence-based assessment and psychological interventions”. Razvan is interested in the field of Emotion Dysregulation and its implications in health and pathology.

Vlad Gavriletea is currently programmer at SC PixelData SRL. He has a great work experience of 10 years in IT industry and is specialized on medical software, having a very good understanding of the needs in this field. The IT knowledge, as well as the good understanding of the medical field have made Vlad a great leader in several software projects that turned out to be a real success for Clinics, Hospitals and Imaging Centers. His skills in designing and maintaining databases helped offering high responsive applications running on secured environments and active monitoring tools for technical support teams.


Marius Eugen Rotariu is programmer at SC PixelData SRL. He has great work experience of 10 years in software development. He is Programming Senior C++ Developer with very good knowledge in DICOM standard and image processing algorithms.

Călina Andra – Maria Stoica is working at PixelData on the position of SQL data base specialist, Software Tester. Professional Experience: Stoica Călina Andra – Maria has a very good experience data base structures and SQL language. She is specialized in medical software, having a very good understanding of the needs in this field.
